Council Bluffs is a treasure in itself and to encourage our families to rediscover all of the history and beauty of our community, Celebrate CB has added this new, free family activity!
The city-wide treasure hunt will take participants around the city to many of the historical sites you may have forgotten about or didn't even know existed! As you and your family hunt for treasure (our fabulous prizes), you'll also discover our community's treasures.
Remember! The only place to get your Official Map is at Bucky's- 16th & Broadway, 35th & Broadway, and South 24th Street.

Treasure Hunt Basics
- Who Can Participate?
- The Treasure Hunt will be loads of fun for people of all ages! Families are encouraged to work together and join the hunt.
- How Do We Get Started?
- You MUST have an Official Treasure Map. Maps are available for free at Bucky's Express on North 16th Street and Broadway, 35th and Broadway, and South 24th Street. Maps will be available soon, so plan to get yours!
- What Do We Do After We Pick Up a Map?
- A new clue will be released in the Daily Nonpareil each daily. Follow the clues to get closer and closer to winning the treasure.
- Is There Anything We Can Do To Find Extra Clues?
- Yes! The Celebrate CB Opening Ceremonies will take place on Friday, May 9th at Bayliss Park. The first clue will be given during the opening ceremony and won't be printed in the Nonpareil until Sunday, May 11th along with the third clue. Coming to the Opening Ceremony will give you a two-day head start on competitors who don't come!
You can also get an extra clue on Tuesday, May 13 by participating in the Clean Sweep community clean-up event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. This clue will NOT be published in the Daily Nonpareil, so you must attend to get this extra gem. Bonus: All Clean Sweep Volunteers will get a free dinner served by the Mayor and City Council courtesy of HGM Associates and Wal-Mart.
- What Are We Looking For?
- A Big Gold Key! No digging, climbing or trespassing! The key will be located within the city limites on public property.

- We Found the Key? What Do We Do Now?
- There will be a phone number to call on the key when you find it. Call that number and hang onto your Official Map and the Official Key. To claim the prize, winners must present the Official Key and the Official Map. (Must be 18 years or older to claim the prize - see official rules for all of the details.)
